introspective periscope : peeking inside since Y2K ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- all things sweet and harmonious two days left - eighteenth of april, 2003 "forward motion make you sway like the ocean the herb is more than just a powerful potion."~cypress hill only two days left and the guestlist grows for the chocolate easterbunny pot brownie extravaganza. then again, every get together at my house is an extravaganza. perhaps we shall call this...a...spectacular. (thank you, thesaurus.com. this week has been all kinds of hectic with work and the occasional fly by the seat of my pants encounter with the world outside of the bubble of the mall and home that has become my day to day life. on wednesday night, passover, i went to a sader with heidi. her mother is jewish and her uncle is orthodox. though i didn't understand most of what was going on, the energy was intense and carefree, the hebrew, intoxicating, the wine, kosher. everything traditional magnified to my uneducated unfamiliar eye seemed supremely out of place, from the tassels and the backwards books and the children reading and singing hebrew fluently to the foil-lined kitchen. it was an experience unforgetable. in and out of conciousness during those moments before sleep, strange snippets of the past come back in windows of memory that keep me guessing, laughing, and wondering what keeps making me think of those things. i like remembering how i used to be when i am like i like to be... as it gets further into spring and the nights come later and the day stays longer, i remember how sweet a summer breeze is and how music can float when you find the right herb to lift your spirts. have a good weekend, kittens. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- .what came before. - .what happened next. a diamond at the bottom of the drain - 20 october 2017 |
