introspective periscope : peeking inside since Y2K ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the visitor and the new pet death before dawn - thirteenth of march, 2002 "i wanna be mesmerizing, too."~ we were up really late last night, cutting and clipping squares of magazine ads out and adding them to the montage collage that has become the wallpaper of our office. now, after nearly six months of dwelling here, we've got the decor pretty much set up. i like that feeling. we still have some work we need to do...some more posters to hang and one more wall to collage but you'd never know the place. we got up early to finish cleaning. mopping floors and doing all of the dirty dishes. throwing away cardboard boxes from the bag-it-yourself grocery. repotting a few plants. cleaning up the porch. vacuuming. steven comes today. in just a few hours. and the grape seed has grown to a thousand times its original size. foreboding. but. at the same time...this sense of excitement. oh. and i got a fish yesterday. he's a blue japanese fighting fish. a beta, if you will. i named him kabuki. i was going to name him geisha, but toby said that was the wrong word for what i wanted it to mean. i wanted to name him after those guys that paint their faces and dress like woman in japan. the theatre, i'm assured, is called kabuki. hence, the name. well thought out, no? until, cats. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- .what came before. - .what happened next. a diamond at the bottom of the drain - 20 october 2017 |
